Patrick Kane ARRESTED for… fighting?
By Carrie | August 9, 2009
We’ve never seen Kaner get into a fight on the ice. He’s usually got guys like Big Buff and Burs to defend his teeny self. However, after taking a $13.80 cab ride with his cousin and being told that the cabbie didn’t have 20 cents change to give them (in addition to the $1 I guess they weren’t tipping him after handing over $15), Kaner and cuz allegedly punched the guy, grabbed their money back and ran.
Maybe Snoop has some advice for this whippersnapper when it comes to facing jail time.
I’d like to think the cousin did the assaulting and Kaner grabbed the money. It’s kind of funny to think that 20 cents would be an issue to the 2008 Rookie of the Year. Because of this stunt, Hat-trick Kane has been charged with second-degree robbery and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Who knew that little Patrick Kane was so feisty?! Don’t worry, Kaner… you’ll make more money someday soon.

So. Bitty Blackhawks.
By Kat | August 9, 2009
I can’t even blame drugs or alcohol for this utterly random idea. It just seemed to pop into my head after my long flight back from Comic-Con. “Draw the Blackhawks players as children! And then use this to make fun of them!” I don’t question my thought processes, and neither should you. It’s an exercise in futility — trust me on this.
The Bitty Blackhawks were influenced by the Tiny Titans and the Mini-Marvels, two comics which use the “superheroes as children” motif to gently poke fun at their grown-up counterparts. You can get away with a lot as long as your art is cute. Not that I would know anything about this. Ahem.
So, anyway! Onto the first of the Bitty Blackhawks drawings. I’m actually working on more right now, so this might be a semi-regular thing on this blog. Fear with great fear.

First post.
By Jeanna | August 2, 2009
Finally…I’m making my first post. Sorry it’s been a long time. I’ll introduce myself officially…my name is Jeanna, and I’ve been a Blackhawks fan for awhile. I’ve always liked and cheered for them since I was a kid but last year — I got really, really into it. I’ve actually never been to a ‘Hawks game but I hope to change that once 2010 starts. I’ve been to a few minor-league games but that’s not nearly as fun as a Blackhawks game. I’m originally from Wisconsin and I’ve lived in Charlotte, NC since 2003. My favorite players are Toews, Kane, Burish and of course….Versteeg! Ah, who am I kidding. I love ‘em all.
If you don’t already know my best friend passed away quite unexpectedly over a week ago, and I felt like I wasn’t quite ready to post… but after some time, I am feeling better. I’m so glad I have friends on twitter and elsewhere that helped me through it! Knowing that there are so many people out there that loved and cared about him made me feel comforted. But on to happier things…
… I’m counting the days until hockey starts up again, and if the first pre-season game is Sept. 19th that means we have 49 days left! This off-season has been interesting, and I have warmed up to the fact that we’ve got Hossa and Kopecky. Tomas has really grew on me…. and like Kat, I like Hossa’s frosted hair. They will fit in wonderfully with the team and I’m excited to see what they can do. I know Hossa had surgery recently but it’ll be good.
When the schedule came out not too long ago, I learned that the Blackhawks are coming to Raleigh, NC to the RBC Center to play the Hurricanes January 30th! I can’t wait until tickets go on sale…I hope to be one of the first to snatch tickets
I’ve already told my husband that I don’t care where we sit as long as we go.
Other than that, I’m trying to figure out which player t-shirt to add to my collection just in time for the regular season!
