Remember remember the tenth of December…
By Kat | August 19, 2009
If you would’ve told me a year ago that I’d be here, writing for a hockey blog, I would’ve said you were nuts.
If you would’ve told me a year ago that I’d be a proud Blackhawks Season Ticket holder, I would’ve laughed in your face.
A year ago, I couldn’t have cared less about the Blackhawks or hockey in general. Hockey was that weird sport from Canada where they hit a little rubber thing with sticks while trying not to bust their asses on the ice. I still pronounced “Toews” as “Toes.”
And yet, here I am. How in the hell does this happen?

Bitty Blackhawks: Kaner Gets Caught
By Kat | August 17, 2009

And now, a short story.
One time, I saw Patrick Kane at McDonalds. Or, rather, he saw me first — with my Blackhawks t-shirt on (it was laundry day). He took one look at me, turned around and left. I wasn’t even going to say hi to him (most I could’ve managed was the Head Nod of Acknowledgment, at that point). I was running in to grab something to eat before a meeting, so “harassing local celebrity” was far down the list of important things to do.
Whatever, Kaner. This is why I’m making fun of you now. Your inflated sense of self-worth is truly lulz-worthy, home skillet.
…
SO BITTER, YOU GUYS. Hahaha!

Introduction…
By Susan | August 14, 2009
Hello to everyone!!!
I just wanted to introduce myself to those of you don’t know/follow me. My name is Susan, I go by suzechooch a lot. I’m born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago and a die hard Hawks fan! My mom was the Blackhawks travel agent in the seventies and ever since then, my family has been obsessed with hockey and the Hawks. I grew up falling asleep in my dad’s lap to the sound of Pat Foley’s voice on the TV.
Now I’m 23 and a bigger hockey fan then most of the guys I know. It always amazes me when I wear my jersey or am at a bar watching a game and some guy thinks he knows more about the game or has to “teach” me the basics. There’s nothing better then a bunch of wonderful girls LOVING hockey a lot more then the boys. We love the fights, the sweat, and that adrenaline that kicks in all of us when hear the excitement and the affliction in Pat’s voice.
I’m extremely proud of this site and the girls who are on it and created it. The fact that we hardly knew each other a few seasons ago and now I feel like I can’t watch a game without hearing from them! I’m even more honored to have been included in it and given the opportunity to blog to everyone.
…Okay enough of this sappy crap, now let’s talk hockey….
Obviously Sharp is my favorite player. Feel free to challenge me to being his #1 fan, but I WILL win, every time. Besides him being the most incredibly handsome guy I’ve ever seen, I think and can prove he’s an amazing player. Despite his injury this year (my heart stopped on Valentines Day and it had nothing to do with Valentine’s), he came back in the playoffs and managed to score 7 goals, tied for 2nd with Johnny T for most goals in the playoffs. Yeah, he might not be the most physical guy, but his break always, his amazing assists and the way he can make Kane and Towes play better when they’re
on the ice, is priceless.
Yes I’m aware of the trade rumors and next season scares the crap out of me. All I can say for this season is that I’m damn glad Hossa is getting his surgery! At least I’ll have Sharp for one more year :/
I won’t go into details (because it makes me sound crazy) but needless to say I’m obsessed with Sharp! I’ve meet him several times, stood outside in lines for hours on hours in the freezing cold just to be near him. I can’t say a damn word infront of him, but who cares!
Burish, Seabs, and Towes are next on my favorite player lists. I’m a big fan of Versteeg and absolutely HATE Patrick Kane. Regardless of this crazy alleged assault charge, I think he is so overrated and so over paid. I would be perfectly fine with him getting traded next year. Sorry. I will admit though, his hat trick in the playoffs made me like him a little more….just a little.
I can’t even tell you how excited I am for this season. In my life, I have yet to see one of my teams go all the way. Yeah Go Cubs Go, and hopefully with Cutler, we can do it this year. I’m ready for a Hawks Cup, and more importantly my brother and I are getting tattoos of the feathers when the Hawks do finally win…..because the WILL! In Chicago sports, we BELIEVE!!!!
